Pom-along “How to make an Easter Pom Nest”

My First Pom-Along in this Blog format... let's see how it goes! But super simple to make this Pom Nest. My tutorial assumes you have made a PomPom before. If you haven't, don't start with this... I will insert a link HERE (as soon as I can) to show you basic PomPom Making. Or, pop on over the IGTV for video help HERE.

This is the cute little PomNest and it measures around 6 inches across. The white hoop on top is a 4inch hoop - links at the end of the page for supplies. The bird was from Aldi and the Eggs were from Home Bargains.

I have used a Clover PomPom Maker - the XL largest size that Clover make. (Links to buy one at the end) OR you can make a 6inch / 7inch / 8inch PomPom frame from Cardboard. Bear in mind, the bigger your PomPom maker, the more Yarn and Ribbon you will need.
I have chosen 3 different Yarns and 2 different ribbons and 1 Tulle (netting) to make these Nest combinations. 6 different strands in total.

I wrap all 5,6,7 ribbons and yarns and tulle alllll around the PomPom maker - at the same time. I mix them all up and wind them around simultaneously. It saves time and gives a good even mix of textures. This is one side all ready and complete.

After winding around both sides, i cut through the centre, exactly as i would any other PomPom made from yarn alone. IMPORTANT *don't forget to tie around the middle really tight - double up that yarn! and leave some long hanging ends.... see photo below.

These yarn ends will then tie tightly around the hoop to keep it in place and keep it upright *TIP* i also pop a big splodge of hot glue gun right in there - deep inside - where that hoop sits. Wait for it to cool. I love a Glue Gun - i use them all the time. And i barely have any fingertips left from burning them on this hot glue gun!!

Then you decorate - easy peasy. Hot Glue Gun again... get some eggs on there... maybe a chick... maybe a birdie... i got all these items from Pound Shops.

Give all your elements time to dry. A hot Glue Gun dries off very quickly. And you can hang this on a door handle or pop on a table, or gift instead of chocolates. I love the colours and, quite simply, how pretty it looks.
Give it a Go??
